The Wentworth Real Estate Group is proud to announce the launching of the Wentworth Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization with the stated aim of uplifting and empowering families in order to strengthen the community as a whole. Whether it be monetary donations, time, or physical labor, we are locked in and invested in changing lives in our local area.

Why the emphasis on charity? The following are some of the ways “giving back” can be beneficial:

  • Strengthen your community. By becoming an active participant in local charities you can help uplift your community as a whole. The idea is that by helping individuals and families, eventually everyone will see the benefits.

  • Giving helps to reinforce personal values. As individuals we want to always strive to be the best person we can be. By donating our time, talents, or money, we reinforce those principals.

  • Improve society by promoting diversity and inclusion. Many charities are created to help and support vulnerable groups. Your actions will help shine a light on the issues facing marginalized individuals and bring about awareness which will in turn promote diversity and inclusion.

  • Giving makes you feel good. Donating has a way of brightening your mood and making you feel empowered. There is also a direct correlation between charity and the increased activity of pleasure in regions of the brain. (UK Giving 2021)

  • Introduce your family and friends to the importance of generosity and giving back. As children we often emulate the actions of our parents and family. Family giving is a perfect way to reinforce those values and helps to create a bond through a shared goal.

  • You become informed. By doing research about what cause or issue you want to donate to you become informed.

Wentworth Real Estate Group and the Wentworth Foundation finished the last quarter of 2022 with a bang. In October, we kicked off our first-annual Fall Fit Fest, which consisted of a 5k run, fitness expo, and a country music concert starring our good friend Dusty Black with support from Guerin Lewis and Mike Leslie. We were able to raise $10,000 for the Fenton Athletic Department, and promote healthy nutrition and regular exercise for our friends and family in the community. With our fourth annual No Shave November event, we were able to raise close to $22,000. The proceeds from this event went to fifteen-year-old cancer survivor Dominic Batsuba and the U CAN-CER-VIVE Foundation. In December, over twenty agents and staff volunteered their time and efforts at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. We were able to sort and package enough food to feed thousands just in time for the Christmas holidays.
